The 25L Wide Mouth Iliamna Duffel is designed for weekend getaways, gym sessions, or everyday carry. Crafted from durable 18 oz. waxed canvas with top-grain water buffalo leather accents, this bag is built to withstand any adventure. I wanted to wait a few weeks after buying this bag to review it properly. I’ve only used it to take gym clothes to work for now, and it has seen very light usage. Upon receiving the bag, I was quite taken back by how nice it looked and the quality. I noticed that the buttons on the handle clasp were a little loose and rattled but I thought nothing of it at the time.
Fast forward a few weeks and one of those buttons has completely separated like it wasn’t even pressed together. (By this I mean the male end of the button was not mounted onto the leather properly so it came apart and fell off the bag)
The leather strap on the side is also quite nice but the metal arm socket just randomly falls out of the clasp for no reason at all. Another manufacturing defect and quality flaw. For a bag that touts “made to last” these were huge oversights that make the bag not really live up to that slogan.
A little let down by these quality flaws but overall the bag is nice and will see usage from me. I’ll see about having it fixed myself and done properly, but really shouldn’t be the case.

It’s a great bag…leather trim is so nice!

I really like the feel and construction of the lliamna bag, my only complaint is the main compartment opening is a little bit smaller than I would like it. Otherwise I am very pleased with the design and quality and am confident that this will be the last overnight / weekend bag I’ll ever buy as it is so well constructed it will last a lifetime.

This is truly a beautiful piece of work and built to be a long lasting piece of luggage. It is a bit smaller than anticipated, but hey, it just entices me to purchase another piece.
