I have several items from Kodiak, and love all of them.
I bought this backpack so I can use it while flying, and I can ditch my purse (also from Kodiak). I originally got a laptop bag from here, and even thought the bag itself wasn't too big, it was too big for me. Once I put the laptop bag on (I'm 5'1 and 125lbs), it looked like I was carrying a building. So, I gave my boss the laptop bag and ordered this backpack so I don't look like a dork.
This backpack fits my 16in HP laptop in the compartment that has the slot. I can also put my smaller Samsung laptop in the very back zipper compartment. The compartment with the laptop slot gets filled with chargers, laptop accessories, etc and still has room.
The small compartment on the very front holds my 7 day AM/PM pill organizer. The big compartment with the slot has a little zipper pocket that I'll put my "girl stuff".
I put everything I need in this bag, and it still has room. It fits under the airplane seat, and I can access everything fine. It's also super easy to take out my laptops while going through security, and the strap on the back works well to go on the handle for my carry on luggage.
My only gripe is that the leather for this bag isn't the same "rugged" looking leather as my purse, toiletry bag, or the messenger bag. All of my stuff is the dark walnut color, so I'm assuming the leather just goes through a different treatment process. The backpack has more "supple" leather, which I have several items from Kodiak, and love all of them.

I just like how the other leather looks over time when breaking it in.
